Video transcript: Ragnarok: Thor: Ragnarok Remade Thor as a Comedy

Thor Ragnarok reinvents the Thor franchise by fully embracing a colorful, comedic, and cosmic tone under Taika Waititi's direction. This film ditches the overly serious Asgardian drama the previous movies, instead leaning into irreverent humor, vibrant visuals, and high-energy action. Chris Hemsworth finally gets to flex his comedic chops, while Loki, Hulk, and a new fan favorite, Korg, add to the fun. Cate Blanchett's Hela is visually striking and powerful, though she suffers from the typical MCU villain problem of limited screen time. The film's biggest strength is how it deconstructs Thor, stripping him of Mjolnir, Asgard, and even an eye, forcing him to grow beyond his hammer. NOW YOU KNOW!
