ProsperiTree

Short answer: The Tree of Prosperity is a free kinetic show in the Rotunda of Wynn Macau, on the Macau peninsula. It isn't at Wynn Palace, the company's newer resort in Cotai.

Macao's tourism office and Wynn describe an 11 m (about 38 ft) tree with 60 main limbs, more than 2,000 branches and 98,000 leaves made of 24-karat gold leaf and brass leaf, so the leaves aren't solid gold. During each show, a Chinese zodiac ceiling opens like an iris to reveal a 20 m LED screen and a crystal chandelier, and the tree rises from below the floor and turns to music while lights cycle through the seasons. A 2008 trade report credits mechanical engineering to McLaren Engineering, fabrication to Show Canada in Montreal and automation to Stage Technologies. The show's integrator dates the Tree of Prosperity show to 2006 and says a Dragon of Fortune show was added in 2010; the two alternate in the Rotunda. I found no source naming a designer 'Kevin McCurdy' or giving a cost of 'HKD 2 billion'.
