Komodo

Short answer: Komodo dragons (Varanus komodoensis), the largest living lizards, have loosely jointed, flexible jaws, expandable throats and stretchy stomachs, so they can swallow large chunks or small prey whole, using head-tossing motions to force food down. Serrated teeth tear off pieces when prey is too large.

They can eat up to about 80 percent of their body weight in a meal. The footage shows Komodo dragons feeding.

Komodo dragons are capable of eating prey whole thanks [to] highly flexible jaws, expandable throats, and elastic stomachs. Their jaws [are connected] by ligaments that stretch, allowing them to open wide enough to swallow large prey items. Additionally, their sharp serrated teeth help tear off chunks of meat when the prey is too large to swallow whole. [Komodo] dragons use their powerful muscles to push [food down] their throats, assisted by a unique head tossing motion. Their stomachs [expand] significantly, enabling them to consume up to 80% of [their body] weight in a single meal. NOW YOU KNOW!
